Pastor Josh Harp

Josh Harp grew up as a preacher’s kid in a small agricultural town in northern Iowa. From an early age, he remembers having a deep affection for Christ and desire to know the good news. While in college, God gripped his heart with the conviction that salvation is not based on our works but on the work of Christ – most centrally the death and resurrection of Jesus. In 2005, he entered the pastoral vocation and has been consistently humbled by the ways God serves His church through an imperfect pastor. He has a BA in Cross Cultural Studies from North Central University, and an MA in Missional Theology from Covenant Theological Seminary through the Missional Training Center in Phoenix. He is married to Elizabeth and has three children – Grace, Camille, and Simon.

A Scholar in Residence is someone whose vocation includes devoting time, energy, and resources to research, writing, and speaking within and for the Church. This starts with academic research and writing undertaken with an eye to equip and empower Christians to love God with their minds so that they might love Him with all that they are. The Scholar in Residence role calls the scholar to apply their scholarly work outside of academia through writing and speaking that bridges between academics and the body of Christ.
